a poet & visual artist sewed in the body of a daughter haunted by an inherited memory. for Noor Unnahar, writing is a navigatory act for her personal & familial history. her poems draw inspiration from her South Asian culture where superstitions and food absolutely rule.
she wrote her first collection of poetry yesterday i was the moon (Penguin Random House, 2018) at the age of 19. she then designed and published a guided poetry journal Find Your Voice (Penguin Random House, 2018). during her art school time, she finished and published New Names for Lost Things (Andrews McMeel, 2021). her titles have been translated into Dutch and Chinese language.
she earned her BFA from indus valley school of art and architecture, where she graduated with the esteemed dr. salim uz zaman siddiqui award.
