Emma Ginzel
Substitute Teaching Artist
Emma Ginzel has built a dynamic career in opera and concert performance, with notable roles including Public Opinion (Orphée aux Enfers), Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), (Suor Angelica), and Mrs. Jones (Street Scene). A sought-after performer and collaborator, Emma is actively involved in numerous local opera initiatives, including the Guild Opera, Mission Opera, Opera à la Carte, the Pacific Opera Project Education Program, and the Opera Wednesday concert series.
An experienced concert performer, Emma has been honored to perform as a soloist with Huntington Beach Symphony Orchestra, Point Loma Choral Union, and Point Loma Nazarene Orchestra, including their renowned productions of The Messiah and Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb.
Choral appearances include Pacific Chorale, Pacific Symphony, San Diego Master Chorale, San Diego Symphony Chorus, Long Beach Symphony, Voices of Terpsichor, Verdi Chorus, and Long Beach Camerata Singers. She also serves as a Teaching Artist with Pacific Chorale Academy.
Emma's education and training are rooted in prestigious programs, including Lyric Opera of Orange County, Angels Vocal Art, and the Vienna Summer Music Festival, where she studied as an Emerging Artist. She earned her Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Irvine, where she specialized in works by female composers and in underrepresented languages, under the mentorship of Dr. Darryl Taylor and Dr. Irene Messoloras. Emma also holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Point Loma Nazarene University. Currently, Emma studies with Reid Bruton and Catherine Miller
