PROGRAM
I Am America – Starr Parodi World Premiere commission
Critical Mass – Tarik O’Regan North American Premiere commission
Carmina Burana – Carl Orff New chamber orchestration by Paul Leonard Schäffer (2022)
The season begins with music driven by rhythm, voice, and collective force. Experience Orff’s Carmina Burana in a new chamber orchestration that heightens its raw, percussive energy, alongside Tarik O’Regan’s Critical Mass. A powerful contemporary mass created around his Agnus Dei first sung at the 2023 Coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey, it is shaped by texts that move from anger and forgiveness to light, belief, and peace. The world premiere of I Am America by GRAMMY Award–winning composer Starr Parodi adds a spark of discovery to this bold opening night.
