Under Carl St.Clair, our singers performed Schubert's Mass in G and Charpentier's Te Deum for the blessing of the Abbey's third abbot.

This September, Pacific Chorale joined dozens of Orange County nonprofits at South Coast Plaza for the 25th annual Festival of Children. For a quarter century, the Festival of Children Foundation has used the month to connect local families with organizations that serve kids, and we were glad to be part of the anniversary year.

Every weekend in September, we met hundreds of families each day at our booth. Some of the children we met already sing in school or church choirs. Others were trying it for the very first time.

One of our favorite moments came when a visitor stopped by and told us they're a Pacific Chorale Academy alum! It was a great reminder that a first experience with music can stay with someone long after.

Education is central to Pacific Chorale's mission. Our programs are built to give young people those first experiences and help them grow. Where Young Singers Start:

• Pacific Chorale Academy — An after-school choral program for students in grades 2–6 at selected partner sites. The Academy has been recognized nationally for combining music education with community building. As part of a choir, students learn persistence, teamwork, and responsibility along with musical skills, all in a joyful setting.
• Choral Camp — A week-long summer intensive for high school singers, presented with Cal State Fullerton. Students work with professional artist-educators to build their vocal and musical skills. June 22–26, 2027. Registration is now open.
• Intro to the Arts — Hundreds of free concert tickets each year for students, 100% funded by Chorale donors.

On September 13, Pacific Chorale helped Segerstrom Center for the Arts celebrate its Ruby Jubilee, 40 years at the heart of Orange County's arts scene, with a Big Sing open to everyone. Led by Chorale members Denean Dyson and Sammy Salvador, singers of all ages dropped in to our afternoon rehearsals to learn Roger Emerson's arrangement of Journey's Don't Stop Believin'. That evening, everyone came together on the Argyros Plaza Stage to perform it.

Thank you to everyone who lent their voice to the Big Sing, as well to our colleagues at Segerstrom Center for the Arts for including us in the celebration. We're proud to call the Center home, and we look forward to the next 40 years of making music here.

Up next is Carmina Burana on October 17, one of the most thrilling works in the choral repertoire, sung by the full Chorale.

On Monday, August 31, the Samueli Theater hosted something new in the life of the Segerstrom Center campus. For the first time, all six of its resident companies and campus partners came together for a single media event on this scale. Pacific Chorale, Pacific Symphony, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, South Coast Repertory, and UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art each brought their 2026–27 seasons to Orange County's journalists, critics, and content creators. PBS SoCal's Maria Hall-Brown, who also serves on Pacific Chorale's Board of Directors, emceed the evening.

Director of Marketing Natalie Hunter gave the room a look at a season that builds toward our 60th anniversary. It runs from Carmina Burana and two premieres on Opening Night, October 17, and the PBS SoCal broadcast debut of our film To the Hands this November, to a third performance of Tis the Season!. It ends with two spring milestones: Mahler with the Vienna Philharmonic on March 7 and Bach's Mass in B Minor on May 15.

The evening closed with one-on-one conversations with local journalists and creators, so watch for Pacific Chorale stories in the months ahead.
